Is this the right lamp for you?

Who it's for: This Tiffany cat lamp is ideal if you love cats, warm glass colours, and recognisable animal figures with a calm, natural appearance.

Placement & size: With a length of 17.5 cm and a height of 18 cm, the lamp fits easily on a windowsill, sideboard, bedside table, bookcase, or side table. Due to its low silhouette, it can also stand under a wall shelf or among other home accessories.

What makes it special: The tail, gracefully curved along the body, extends the silhouette. The green eyes and red nose give the cat its own expression, while the light-coloured chest balances the combination of amber, orange, and golden yellow.

Colored light from handmade glass

The story behind this lamp

A cat remaining in a relaxed lying position
This lamp is fully shaped as a lying cat. The front paws point forward, the head is slightly raised, and the tail curves along the side of the body. This gives the posture a natural look, as if the cat is watching the room from its resting spot. The solder lines follow the head, muzzle, shoulders, back, paws, and tail, keeping the shape of the cat clearly recognisable.

A glow along the back and belly
When the lamp is switched off, you mainly see the alternation between orange, amber, golden yellow, cream, and ivory. The marbled structure creates small colour variations in the back and flanks. After being switched on, the light spreads from the centre of the body. The orange glass panels take on a deeper amber tint, the yellow parts light up in gold, and the cream glass becomes softer and ivory-like. The dark solder lines remain visible and clearly accentuate the elongated body.

A face with bright colour accents
The green eyes gain more depth when lit and remain the most striking part of the face. The red nose forms a small bright accent, while the pink inner ears soften the warm glass colours. Together with the light-coloured muzzle, these details give the cat a calm and friendly appearance.

Hand-assembled from 136 pieces of glass
The lamp consists of approximately 136 individual pieces of genuine glass. Each piece is custom-cut, wrapped in copper foil, and connected to the surrounding glass pieces with solder. Marbled glass in orange, amber, and golden yellow was used for the back and top. The chest, belly, and muzzle consist of lighter glass with a soft, cloud-like structure. Small differences in colour gradients, glass texture, and soldering are inherent to the manual manufacturing process.

Low-profile, clearly visible
The cat has no traditional lampshade or separate decorative base. The glass animal forms the entire lamp and rests on four small metal support feet. These support points are barely noticeable, so the focus remains on the glasswork. The dark finish matches the solder lines and fits quietly with the low silhouette.

When a room is ‘almost’ right

A low light point with a serene appearanceA room can feel complete during the day, yet look a bit flat in the evening when only the ceiling light is on. A compact table lamp on a sideboard or windowsill brings back color and depth in one fixed spot. The reclining cat shape works differently than a standard lamp with a shade. The low body stays close to the furniture, causing the light to illuminate primarily the immediate area around the lamp. This lamp is intended as decorative accent lightingand not as main or reading light.

Which light source fits this Tiffany cat lamp? This Tiffany table lamp has one E14 socket and is suitable for a maximum of 25W. An LED bulb of approximately 3W keeps the light soft and suits its decorative character well. RORUVERA recommends a color temperature of 2700K. This warm light color supports the amber, orange, golden yellow, and ivory in the glass and prevents the light parts from looking harsh or cold. Even with a stronger bulb, this cat lamp remains intended as mood lighting and not as a main or reading lamp.

In which interior does this Tiffany table lamp as a reclining cat fit? This Tiffany table lamp as a reclining cat fits well in a classic, rustic, cottage, or eclectic interior. The warm colors go beautifully with wood, linen, ceramics, and furniture with a visible wood grain or soft upholstery. On a wooden sideboard in the living room, the cat forms a low decorative accent. In the bedroom, it fits on a nightstand, while in a library or reading corner, it can find a quiet spot among books and smaller home accessories. In a very sleek and cool interior, the handmade glass may stand out more. The model is shown to best advantage in an environment where warm colors, natural materials, and artisanal details fit. Those looking to buy a Tiffany cat lamp as a compact decorative object or gift will find in this model a recognizable combination of a reclining posture, green eyes, and warm glass colors.

Also discover the Tiffany Animals collection for other figure lamps. You can read more about cutting, wrapping, and soldering the glass pieces in the article on Favrile glass and the copper foil method. The strength of this lamp lies in the combination of the curved tail, the low silhouette, the warm golden-orange glow, and the approximately 136 glass pieces.
